- Tout le monde connait sans doute Skype, logiciel permettant de communiquer vocalement d'ordi à ordi, et d'ordi à téléphone ou le contraire, mais cela moyennant finance. Et bien pour fêter l'anniversaire de son service SkypeOut (permettant de téléphonner d'ordi à téléphone) l'entreprise a décider de baisser ses tarifs de 5 à 37% dans 30 pays. - Un nouveau logiciel gratuit permettant de téléphoner d'ordi à ordi et d'ordi à téléphone (via un service payant) vient de sortir : Gizmo. Ce logiciel reprend en fait quasiment les mêmes fonctions que Skype. Ce logiciel est pour le moment compatible avec Mac OS X et Windows, une version Linux devrait bientôt faire son apparition. - Le gouvernement, par l'intermédiaire de son secrétaire d'tat au Développement de l'économie numérique, Eric Besson, vient de présenter son projet Ordi 2.0, visant à offrir aux ordinateurs une seconde vie. Les objectifs sont divers : lutter contre la fracture numérique, en proposant à des personnes âgées, handicapées ou défavorisées l'accès à un ordinateur à un prix bas, voire gratuitement ; la création de nouveaux emplois pour des personnes en difficulté ; le respect de l'environnement et le reconditionnement des ordinateurs. Sur ce dernier point, citons le site du projet : La production d'un ordinateur laisse une forte empreinte écologique : environ 240 kg d'énergies fossiles, 22 kg de produits chimiques et 1 500 L d'eau, 1,8 tonne de "matières premières" dont beaucoup deviennent rares (eau, cuivre, aluminium, or) et d'autres néfastes pour l'environnement (mercure, cadmium, plomb).
